In the fall of 2018, we were proud to put on the first kickoff event which was an evening that started with deliciously authentic Israeli food, refreshments, and desserts catered by Yafo Kitchen of Charlotte, NC. Following the reception, we premiered the movie, In Search of Israeli Cuisine, a film by Roger Sherman featuring Chef Michael Solomonov which takes you deep into Israel to discover the country and its people through the most common bond all cultures share, food.
The Furman Jewish Student Association, in partnership with the Culinary Club, Office of Spiritual Life, Department of Middle East and Islamic Studies and the Greenville Jewish Film Festival, presented the movie, In Search of Israeli Cuisine, and followed with a presentation and Q & A with local Israeli, Osnat Rosen, President of the Greenville Jewish Film Festival, on the topic of Israeli food and culture.
Professor Sarah Worth of the Philosophy Department introduced the program.
